نویسندگان: خلاصه: It was difficult to decide how many stars to give this book; three seemed a bit low, but four definitely seemed too high. The best part of this book is the suggested reading lists, complete with thumbnail descriptions: chronologically ordered lists of some of the most influential novels, autobiographies, histories, dramas, and poetry. I fully intend to use these lists to find future reading material. Less useful, at least to me, was the "instruction" in how to read "serious literature"; I find the suggestion that one cannot perform "logic-stage" and "rhetoric-stage" reading at the same time as "grammar-stage" reading, that one must take physical notes in a journal, and/or mark and dog-ear the pages of the book, in order to have truly read and understood it, to be somewhat patronizing and excessive. Yes, if a book is proving heavy going, these techniques might prove useful, but they are hardly universally essential when reading anything that somebody might consider "literature". Still, I suppose that it was necessary for the author to have something of the sort included, or all she would have had would have been a collection of suggested reading lists, which probably couldn't have been published. There was a lot of useful historical background here, as well, and the book was definitely worth the read. Still, I doubt that I'll be re-reading it any time soon, although I WILL be using the reading lists as reference material.

نویسندگان: خلاصه: : I loved the book "Zapp!, The Lightening of Empowerment" co-authored by Jeff Coxx with William Byham... and it was that book that lead me to buying "Selling the Wheel." Selling the Wheel is a fun read, albeit a little too long. Jeff Cox has joined with Howard Stevens in this book and has retained the fable style writing from Zapp! which I am greatful for, as fables (for me) tend to deepen the teaching principles presented in the book. The principles are not earth-shattering in this book (focusing on individual selling styles of different sales people) though there are some timely lessons for people in business too. I liked it, but didn't love it. In that way it was a fun read... but not powerful.

Camp explains that negotiations should not be founded on the false pretense of win/win which implies compromise, sacrifice, and/or manipulation before negotiations have even begun. His system offers a thoughtful method to draw out the needs and desires of the adversary efficiently, while the contrarian slant helps shed new light on our undigested beliefs and assumptions about the process.

نویسندگان: خلاصه: After constantly reading and re-reading Non Violent Communication and the workbook, finding tons of valuable information in it and being able to put it into practice, I don't feel this bookLET gave me anything new. First I was unaware this was just a booklet and not a full book , until I got it. It may have declared that in the description but I didn't pay attention! Second, the format of using blurbs from various other participants, seminars and what not makes it very difficult to follow along. I had to stop and was not able to make it all the way through. I jsut had to reread the same passages two and three times just to understand them. That being said I am a college educated, well read individual therefore reading is not a challenge for me, but this booklet was. :-( I had very high expectations for this book after reading NonViolent Communication!
